To obtain fiber, the player must use an weapon tagged 'c:tools/melee_weapon/knives' which within this mod is the flint blade to break grass with a 35% chance to drop between 1 and 3.

Grass Fiber can be used to craft Fiber String which then acts like an early game string

Fiber String acts as the early game string replacement, allowing for the easy crafting of string related items such as fishing rods, bows, or wool.
Fiber String is also a REQUIRED item to progress when using flint tools.
